Dr.   K  Ayyappa Panikkar

 

Hearty welcome to  Dr Ayyappa Panikkar  to the internet pages of  Kerala's modern literary field . Dr Ayyappa Panikkar  who is  holding the  foremost  position in many   fields of  Kerala's modern  literature,  was born on December 9th  in  the year  1930  at Kavalam in Alappuzha district. He is  well  known as a poet , critic and  teacher . After securing  B.A (Hons.)  degree in  English literature and language through Malabar Christian College and  Thiruvananthapuram University College  he secured a   postgraduate degree in teaching from Hyderabad . In 1971 he won the M.A, Ph.D  from Indiana University in America. Later  he served as  a professor in   CMS College in Kottayam , MG College in   Thriruvananthapuram, and  also  in University. Above all these  he was  the chief  of    English Institute of  Kerala University.   It is  worth mentioning that in 1981-82  he   was  also appointed as research  guide  in the Yale University in America.
