Rs.10 cr project for protecting senior citizens
A Rs 10 crore ‘Care Aid Relief for Elders’ project will be implemented in Kerala shortly as part of providing police security to senior citizens, State Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said.
In most houses in the state, either one or two senior citizens were staying who do not have any protection or contact with neighbours, he said, adding, such persons should get protection.
A separate wing of the police will be established for the purpose, the minister told the media here.
With a view to strengthening law and order in coastal areas, ten coastal police stations will be set up at Poovar, Thiruvananthapuram, Anchutheng, Ponnani, Vamanad, Thalassery, Vadakara, Elathur, Thrikkaripur and Kumbalam
