The police camp at Padmanabhaswamy temple has been vacated due to reports of dengue fever.
Twenty-one Police men, deployed for the security of Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple here, were infected with dengue virus. Police sources said the police men, posted at the east gate for the security of the temple, where a treasure trove worth Rs lakh crore has been unearthed, were on leave for the treatment of dengue fever.
The police men who were mainly responsible for the security of the treasure trove inside the temple were infected with the virus. As many as 250 police men are on duty in and around the temple for the crowd control and the security of India s richest temple. Lack of cleanliness is the reason for the spread of disease, the sources added.
