Youth Congress will enrol 50 lakh youths in state

Kannur
Fifty lakh youth would be enrolled in the Youth Congress in the State during the ongoing membership drive.Youth Congress leader from Karnataka M.N. Sooraj, who is the additional returning officer for holding elections in the State units of the Youth Congress, said at a press conference here on Thursday that the membership campaign was being held in the State unit of the Youth Congress after a gap of nearly 25 years. The membership target in Kannur was five lakh, he said.

 

He also added that the election agenda would be announced after October 31. Block level returning officers had been appointed in the State, he said. To a question, Mr. Sooraj said that that the Youth Congress wanted to strengthen intra-party democracy. The organisation was planning the organisational election in such a manner that everybody could be accommodated, he said. Mr. Sooraj also condemned the police action against Youth Congress protestors in the State capital on Wednesday.
