Protest demanding CMs ouster to continue
CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that people have always won their rights through mass agitations. In the siege where masses of housewives rallied for the agitation, Pinarayi said that it's quite natural to face certain difficulties when there is a mass movement. It is protest of the society that is expressed through agitations, Pinarayi said.
The LDF had withdrawn from protest earlier in response to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's word on initiating a probe by a sitting Judge into the Solar Case. Many had tried to distort it (the withdrawal of agitation).
Though a Judicial probe was initiated, the LDF stood by its demand for CM's resignation as the investigation turned to be an eyewash. The LDF further decided to strengthen the agitation and the Chief Minister was shown black flags on his way on several occasions. But he remained unperturbed even after the court delivered critical observations in the alleged land transfer case in which his former gunman Salim Raj was charged as one of the main accused, Pinarayi said.
The agitation is gaining massive support of the land. The pro-UDF media has been trying to build up certain things beyond the outburst of Sandhya, a housewife who was recently in news for protesting against a road block created by the LDF agitation. The present agitation by the masses of housewives is a reply to that. The agitation demanding the resignation of Chandy will continue with more strength and vigour, added Pinarayi.
