BPL cards for ineligible persons to be cancelled soon
BPL cards obtained by ineligible people will be cancelled. The state government said that it will cancell around 15,000 BPL cards before January 30th.
The state government had found out that 23,000 ineligible persons have obtained the cards. Among them are government officers, film stars and NRIs. After the discovery, the government had allowed them time to change to APL till January 15th.
But only 8000 persons have returned the cards. Employment Minister Shibu Baby John ordered to cancell the cards obtained by those who arent ineligible.
