India Healthcare Congress 2012 will be held on 5-6 June 2012 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, India.
The Indian healthcare sector has experienced phenomenal growth of more than 12 percent per annum in the last four years and this growth is expected to be driven by a number of factors: rising life expectancy, rising income levels of Indian households, increasing penetration of health insurance and rising incidence of lifestyle-related diseases in the country has led to increased spending on healthcare delivery.
The health care sector encompasses health care instruments, health care in the retail market, hospitals enrolled to the hospital networks etc. As per a report from McKinsey, India currently has 0.9 beds/1,000 population compared with the global average of 3.3, requiring 100,000 additional hospital beds every year.
